For
more than century, Rotary Watches have specialised in the design and manufacture of
stylish and affordable timepieces.
Rotary Watches Ltd was established in 1895 by Moise Dreyfuss who opened his factory in La
Chaux-de-Fonds, a small Swiss town.
During the next quarter of a century, the family firm grew ever more successful at
marketing their high quality, unforgettably stylish and affordable watches. In the
1920s two members of the Dreyfuss family, Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss took their
timepieces over to Britain where they were soon in high demand.
1925 - Introduction of the now famous Rotary Watch ' winged wheel ' logo.
1934 - Rotary introduces its first shockproof watch.
1940 - Rotary become the official watch supplier to the British Army.
1942 - Rotary introduces its first self winding watch, powered by the wearer's wrist
movements.
1973 - Rotary launches its first quartz crystal, motorised, electronic watch.
The Rotary commitment to quality, technical innovation, product development and
affordability, has made the company a household name. The very word Rotary,
has become synonymous with style, quality, reliability and value for money.
2000 - Rotary Head Office moves to new premises at Regent Street in London.

2005 Introduction of the Rotary Watch Dolphin Standard throughout its range of
watches.
Dolphin standard watches are suitable for swimming, shallow diving, yachting, all water
sports, bathing and showering.
Today, Rotary Watches is a truly international company, with distributors in 30 countries
worldwide. In May 2000, the head office was moved to regent St, London and a year later
the manufacturing facility was relocated from La Chaux-de-Fonds to Neuchatel, Switzerland.
Rotary Watches Ltd is still a family company and with a fourth generation chairman, Robert
Dreyfuss, the company continues to specialise in the affordable, high quality, stylish
timepieces we all admire. |
